Britney Spears And Iggy Azalea To Take 'Pretty Girls' To The 2015 Billboard Music Awards Stage
Britney Spears’ highly-anticipated collaboration with Iggy Azalea “Pretty Girls” will officially be making its TV debut at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards next month. The duo is set to perform the new hit live for the first time a few days after it hits radio stations and streaming sites all over the world.
Earlier this month, Azalea momentarily broke her self-imposed social media hiatus to tweet about how excited she was for the release of “Pretty Girls” and to confirm a stage performance with Spears sometime in the future. She, however, had not disclosed when the track would be showcased live and sparked world-wide speculations of possible dates.
Finally, Billboard and Dick Clark productions confirmed on Wednesday that the pair would be hitting the Billboard Awards stage on May 17 to perform the highly-anticipated hit. Spears also took to Instagram on the same day to “put the rumors to bed” and to confirm the stage performance, which would surely go down as one of the most memorable pop moments of all time.
Azalea and Spears will be joining a star-studded lineup of performers that already includes Kelly Clarkson, Fall Out Boy, Wiz Khalifa, Hozier, Nick Jonas, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Meghan Trainor and John Legend. Both superstars have already made strong impressions on the Billboard Music Awards, with Spears bagging six wins in 11 categories since 1999 and Azalea coming up with 12 entries in 11 categories.
Spears is also no stranger to taking the Billboard stage as she already performed on the show twice, the most recent being in 2011, when she and Rihanna sand “S&M” while having a pillow fight. The Aussie rapper has also dominated show with her rendition of “Fancy” with Charli XCX in 2014, E! News stated.
The A-list duo was also spotted earlier this month filming their ‘80s-inspired music video for their new collaboration, which will be out on May 5. “Pretty Girls” will appear as the first track on Spears’ ninth studio album “Life Is a Beach: Live in Miami.”
This year’s BBMAs will be hosted by rapper Ludacris and model Chrissy Teigen and will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 17. The three-hour event will be executive produced by Allen Shapiro, Mike Mahan, Mark Bracco, Barry Adelman and Robert Deaton.
