Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has become the main focus for gamers, especially now that it has also become the June cover story for Game Informer. GameSpot has gathered the exclusive details surrounding the new COD franchise.

Aside from the previously reported new material on the game, it seems that Advanced Warfare will also be running on new and yet to be announced game engine, which may be the reason for the photorealistic teaser image first revealed for the game.

Gamers will also be playing the character Private Mitchell voiced by Troy Baker, who's also known to lend his voice to Joel of The Last of Us and The Joker of Batman: Arkham Origins. But the catch is that you'll only hear Mitchell in dialogue during cutscenes.

Mitchell starts out as a Marine and friends with Will Irons, the son of antagonist and corporation CEO Jonathan Irons. After the duty, Jonathan Irons asks Mitchell if he wants to join the corporation, to which Mitchell says yes and gets his own EXO suit.

This EXO suit will be one of the major factors that will serve as the gameplay changer for Advanced Warfare. Instead of being limited to the usual routine in battles, you'll now have the ability to climb walls, jump to higher ground, and even hover in midair via the EXO suits. It also means that you'll be dealing with weapons that make use of different kinds of ammo-after all, the setting of Advanced Warfare is 2054, a future with battles conducted beyond your usual tanks and rifles.

As far as the multiplayer is concerned, there's no confirmation as of yet, but given the different kinds of capabilities that players can enjoy in Advanced Warfare, taking the battle online would be an interesting vision.

Advanced Warfare DLCs still timed-exclusive for Microsoft

Just like Ghosts and previous COD franchise dating back to 2009, Sledgehammer Games' 2014 installment will offer timed exclusivity of DLC content for the Xbox One and Xbox 360.

This was confirmed via Xbox Wire: "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, developed by Sledgehammer Games (co-developers of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3), harnesses the first three-year, all next-gen development cycle in franchise history, and again brings all add-on content first to Xbox."

This effectively dispels previous rumours that Activision has finally made the PS4 the lead platform for the Call of Duty franchise. Hardcore Gamer previously reported a quote from industry insider Pete Famousmortimer Dodd NeoGAFer, where he had stated that Activision may be jumping ship from Xbox One to get into the PS4 bandwagon, despite COD being one of the biggest franchises for the Xbox 360.

Wii U spotted for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare?

When talking about multiplatform games, the Wii U always seems to be the one platform that gets left out for the most part. In Ghosts, the Wii U experienced a delay in announcement, while Watch Dogs still doesn't have a definite release date for the Wii U version.

Now, when the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare was announced, it's as if the Wii U no longer has any hope of making it as one of the platforms. After all, the newest COD will be a next-gen first game, and despite it actually being a next-gen of its own right, there has been no mention of the Wii U at all in relation to the game.

However, Charlie Intel has found the logo of Wii U while searching through the official web site's source code. The link contains small image featuring all the logos of the platforms that Advanced Warfare will be releasing, with Wii U also included.

There's no official word yet for the Wii U version of Advanced Warfare, but this may be hope for those who still want to play the game on their Wii U.
