‘Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’ v. ‘Battlefield Hardline’: New Armour Revealed; Stealth System Updates Discussed
Being the best in "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" has its perks, and for the lucky 100 who are ranked as the top players, there will be an exclusive prize waiting. This prize is an award from developer Sledgehammer Games.
The armour, touted as the "Grand Master Character Gear," has been revealed as a reward, and according to IGN, it's an exclusive that will not be given away again after the top 100 ranked players get their shot at the goods. The new armour has been teased, and the link above shows off the armour for those who want to see it anyway.
This is the second time that a new armour is being given away. The first was previously announced at the Sledgehammer Games blog, where fans who had played throughout the Black Friday weekend were given the Nigerian Command loadout. It is part of the more than 1,000 pieces of loot that will be given away with the use of supply drops. Hopefully, there's more loot in store for the holiday season.
Apart from "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare," Visceral Games, developer of "Battlefield 4," has brought back the hype following the announcement of a 2015 release date. This time, the new elements have something to do with stealth as one of the main points when playing.
From what has been gathered so far about "Battlefield Hardline," the main feel of the game revolves around cops and robbers' approach rather than the usual layout of gunning and running in battle following previous iterations of the title. This time, developer Visceral Games is also adding the layer of stealth that is more complex, because there will be situations wherein flight is better than fight.
Speaking with PlayStation Lifestyle, Visceral Games' Steve Papoutsis revealed the "last known position" system, which allows the player to get away from the fight. This system alerts the enemy that the player is around, but in order to give players a chance to still get away, there will be a few seconds where their exact location can remain undetected. This means that even though enemies know that the players are around, the enemies don't know exactly where the players are hiding, so they have a chance of slipping away.
Papoutsis further expounds that this system makes use of heat-seeking AI, though the exact mechanics of how it will work is still being polished. The developers still have some time to perfect this approach, as "Battlefield Hardline" is not expected to debut until March 17, 2015.
