‘Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’ dev talks series possibility, David Hasselhoff role in zombies
Infinity Ward has always been known for its work in the “Call of Duty Modern Warfare” series. It’s one of the most hailed installments of the franchise, which is said to account for some astounding preorders, which come with the remaster version.
However, it seems that Infinity Ward is looking at “Call of Duty Infinite Warfare” as the start of a more ambitious approach.
Speaking to Polygon, Infinity Ward Narrative Director Taylor Kurosaki said that “Call of Duty Infinity Warfare” had a clear goal—and that was to ensure that it had paved its own history away from other installments that came before it.
“We want to establish our own new subfranchise. Our own new branch of the Call of Duty tree. What we are developing here could certainly support multiple games. We’re trying to develop a very rich world that we’re not even close to exhausting.”
In fact, Kurosaki compares it to the journey of writing for “World War II” and “Modern Warfare.” They will be creating and operating with new weapons, new AI and new ground for change.
Zombies and David Hasselhoff
Infinity Ward has just recently given fans a look at Zombies in Spaceland, the zombies component of “Call of Duty Infinite Warfare.” The teasers haven’t ended, however, since it seems that a popular “Baywatch” star will be a part of it.
Announced via press release, the company revealed that David Hasselhoff will be joining the cast of actors who will be lending their voices to the characters in the zombie mode. As for Hasselhoff, his role appears to fit him completely.
“As part of the story, players will encounter an enigmatic DJ in the theme park, portrayed with voice and likeness by The Hoff, who will be an invaluable resource as they try to get out of this horror movie alive,” said the developer.
The previous trailer released shows off the different areas of the abandoned theme park. It’s set with an ‘80s feel, and there will be four aspiring actors included in the zombies mode.
“Call of Duty Infinite Warfare” will be out on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One on Nov. 4.
