Canon Zooms In the EOS 100D and EOS 700D: Creative Lens Extraordinaire
Creativity reaches new heights and brings you two new tools to capture every precious and beautiful moment wherever you go.
Canon introduces the new EOS 100D, built for mobile photography with its lightweight and compact features, and the EOS 700D, made to give you colors and resolution beyond your imagination.
"The new Canon EOS models have been designed specifically for those with a passion for creativity looking to step up and explore the next level of photography," said Kai Lebens, Canon Australia product manager for consumer cameras and lenses.
EOS 700D: The most advanced to date
The EOS 700D is Canon's most advanced consumer EOS model to date, with its 5 frames-per-second shooting, 18-megapixel Hybrid CMOS AF sensor, and a wide 9-point all cross type AF system. It's the perfect camera for those who want push their creativity to greater heights.
It also features a new, simplified 360° rotating mode dial to provide easy and swift access to the camera's various shooting modes.
See the world in another angle through the EOS 700D's 7.7 cm Vari-angle Clear View LCD II Touch screen. This also allows you to easily adjust the settings, as well as frame, shoot, and review from different angles, so you can capture the best picture imaginable.
EOS 100D: Giving a new meaning to compact cameras
Capture those moments wherever you are with the lightest and smallest APS-C DSLR in the world, the Canon EOS 100 D. It won't be too much to lug around, weighing only 407g, nor will it take too much space in your luggage at 116.8x90.7069.4mm.
You're looking at a DiG!C 5 image processor for stunning takes in any condition, as well as a shooting speed of up to 4 frames-per-second.
Get the additional feature of in-camera cropping, so you can edit on the go and save it on a separate file to keep your original handy, just in case. What's more, the 18-megapixel CMOS sensor ensures that even cropped images will have a crisp finish.
Creativity going farther
Another highlight that Canon's two newest models boast of is its easy-to-use shooting modes and creative filters. Each mode has 7 creative filters, with the EOS 700D having a live preview feature and the EOS 100D having an extra effect shot to boot.
This is perfect for beginners who want to get the hang of photography, as it is also complemented by the Scene Intelligent Auto mode, which already selects the best settings for each identified shot. All you need to do is focus on the image as the camera does all the adjustments for you.
EOS movies made easy
Canon also offers Full HD resolution for its EOS models, with the Hybrid CMOS AF system in the 700D and the Hybrid CMOS AF II system in 100D.
There's also the Video Snapshot mode for easier shooting and editing of video clips, so you can capture those precious moments wherever you are.
"Both cameras include high-quality and advanced features that Canon is renowned for, making them powerful creative tools for hobbyist photographers with huge scope to grow into the camera as their skills develop," said Lebens.
The two models will be up for release sometime this April, with price tags tagged at $1,200 for the EOS 700D kit and $1,100 for the EOS 100D kit. Both kits have the new EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM standard zoom lens, perfect for giving you those sweeping landscapes and close-range portraits.
