'Captain America: Civil War' To Set Up Next 'Avengers' Movie With 'Psychological Twists'
Scarlett Johansson spoke about what the fans can expect to see in “Captain America: Civil War” in a recent interview. The actress will be reprising her role as Natasha Romanoff in the upcoming movie.
The script of “Captain America: Civil War” is ready and apparently Scarlett Johansson has read it. The actress gave her insight about the movie while speaking to Collider. She spoke about how the movie will be different from what the fans have seen so far and how it will set up the storyline for the next set of “Avengers” movies.
“The film has a very different feeling than anything of Marvel’s that I’ve read or been a part of before,” the actress said in the report. Scarlett Johansson added that the upcoming movies can’t necessarily be called “darker” as it has some elements of humour and hope. But, she did note that the movie will have a very “different audience experience.”
The actress has been a part of many Marvel movies and she feels that “Captain America: Civil War” will give the viewers a “different feeling,” compared to “Batman” movies. She also feels that the “stakes” get “larger and larger” with each new movie. She said that the Marvel movies were now “maturing with the audience.”
Scarlett Johansson teased that the upcoming movie will feature some “complex psychological twists” that even she did not expect. The actress did not hint at what the twists were about and the characters involved.
One difference she noted in “Captain America: Civil War” was that the movie will feature many more characters, compared to the “Winter Soldier.” She explained that the 2014 movie had the “flavour” of being a part of “70s style car-chase political-thriller.”
The upcoming movie will also have the added responsibility of setting up the story line for the two part “Avengers: Infinity Wars” movies that are slated to be released in 2018 and 2019. The upcoming movie as well as the two “Avengers” movies will be directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo.
Scarlett Johansson felt that the Russo brothers had a different approach to film making than Joss Whedon, who is the director of “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” The actress said that she was excited to work with the two directors again and added that it would be “interesting” to see how they will work with all the characters in the movie and setup the next two “Avengers” movies.
