‘Captain America: Civil War' Set Videos Showcase Cap's Battle With Crossbones
More set footage have emerged as production for “Captain America: Civil War” continues in Atlanta. A few photos and some videos capturing Captain America’s fight with Crossbones have been released online.
Comicbookmovie has shared some of the footage captured during Captain America’s (Chris Evans) fight scene with Crossbones (Frank Grillo) in “Civil War.” The site labelled the video as showcasing the “epic battle” between the two enemies. The first video originally posted by Instagram user estevandam on May 20 shows Brock Rumlow a.k.a. Crossbones throwing punches at Cap, which the latter managed to dodge.
The second video shows Captain America advancing towards Crossbones and the two engage in a fight. Crossbones try to land punches on the super soldier but Cap was quick to dodge his fist. Cap lands the punches instead including a roundhouse kick landing on Crossbones’ face.
Instagram user daegonkwon also shared another video from the set of “Captain America: Civil War.” This time it only shows Crossbones throwing punches in the air seemingly in a fight with an invisible enemy. From the video the movie extras could also be seen running wildly around as the fight ensues. Daegonkwon captioned the video,” My favorite vid of the day. @frankgrillo1 gets #Crossbones suits on and beating down #CaptainAmerica."
The user also shared another video showing Frank Grillo teaching Chris Evans some self-defence moves for their fight scene in “Captain America: Civil War.” According to daegonkwon, the epic and “brutal fight scene” between Cap and Crossbones were done by stunt doubles. However, he recalled seeing how Frank Grillo “was so pumped up” that he himself felt his energy. The user shared a photo of the actor on his Instagram page and captioned it, “I can feel the energy that only #FrankGrillo can bring. #Crossbones #CaptainAmericaCivilWar.”
The epic fight scene between Crossbones and Captain America seemed to have been filmed in what was previously rumoured as the setting for Wakanda. Comicbookmovie once shared a photo of the set taken outside the Norfolk Southern building in Atlanta. The various huts seemed to represent the marketplace in Black Panther’s African nation of Wakanda. However, Comicbook commentators said otherwise considering how the scene doesn’t represent the highly technological nation in the comics.
