Ever since Martin Freeman was announced as a new cast for “Captain America: Civil War,” a lot of speculations have run wild as to which character he will portray. According to a report, there are three possible Marvel characters the actor can play considering his versatile skills in acting.

According to What Culture, among the speculated roles Martin Freeman could supposedly play would be that of government liaison officer Everett Ross. In the Marvel comics, Ross became T’Challa or Black Panther’s friend after he served as “an audience surrogate meant to make the African kingdom of Wakanda more accessible.” He was reportedly Black Panther’s all-around travel aide, being his driver and his tour guide.

Mark Millar, writer for the comic book storyline for which “Captain America: Civil War” is based, recently hinted the possibility of Freeman actually portraying as Everett Ross. He told RadioTimes.com that the actor won’t be wearing any costume since his “character won’t be a super-person.” Millar further teased that Freeman’s role won’t be difficult to identify once viewers see him on film. “Once you get to see it, it’s so obvious,” he said.

Likewise, movie scoopster Umberto Gonzalez also hinted of Martin Freeman possibly playing as Everett Ross in “Captain America: Civil War.” He revealed on his Instagram post that “The Hobbit” star will play as an interrogator and that he will reprise his role in “Black Panther.”

Considering Mark Millar’s hint that Martin Freeman will not be in costume in “Captain America: Civil War,” then per What Culture he can literally play as the computer J.A.R.V.I.S. Even though Stark’s loyal aide was “killed off” in “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” he can supposedly easily use one of his other operating systems to create an upgraded version of J.A.R.V.I.S.

Lastly, per What Culture Martin Freeman could play the role of Norman Osborn. Since the new Spider-Man will make his debut in “Captain America: Civil War,” then it’s supposedly understandable to have another character from his universe involved. According to the site, the sinister business tycoon being played by an “unassuming small man” such as Freeman could very well make for a fascinating version of Norman Osborn.
