William Hurt will reprise his 2008 role as General Ross in “Captain America: Civil War.” In an interview with IGN, the actor teased how his character has already evolved from when viewers met him in “The Incredible Hulk.”

William Hurt briefly talked about his comeback role in “Captain America: Civil War” as General Ross during an interview with IGN about his new series, “Humans.” When asked about his anticipated appearance in the sequel, Hurt teased how his character will be “different,” and will be “modernized” in “Civil War.” “What they've done is they've taken a character who was the Ross from the older film and made a new version,” he revealed.

The actor revealed that he liked it a lot that “Captain America: Civil War” has a different style approach to his character. “This is a much newer Ross, a much different Ross,” Hurt said. “I haven't had a lot of time to understand it, but I'm doing the best I can,” he added.

William Hurt also recalled how he loved playing the role of General Ross for the first time in “The Incredible Hulk.” “I was able to try and create an ego as big as the monster he was chasing,” he explained.

How different General Ross would be in “Captain America: Civil War” is still unknown. In the Marvel comics, Ross took a drastic turn when he became the Red Hulk. Whether the Marvel Cinematic Universe will take this path in the character’s story is uncertain.

However, according to MCU Exchange, William Hurt’s presence in the sequel somehow teased the possibility of fans seeing the Red Hulk in the film. The site seemed very certain that General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross will turn into the Red Hulk in “Captain America: Civil War.” MCU Exchange further claimed that there will be a scene in the sequel where it will showcase Bruce Banner’s Green Hulk battle it out with the Red Hulk. This fight scene will reportedly be no ordinary battle as it will supposedly rival the Hulkbuster scene in “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” According to the site, William Hurt’s re-entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in “Captain America: Civil War” will also help pave way for Mark Ruffalo’s return as the Green Hulk.
