Cardano Outpaces Ethereum, Litecoin In Transaction Volume; Bitrue Breaks Big ADA News
The Cardano network is now second to Bitcoin, surpassing Litecoin and its rival smart contract platform Ethereum in 24-hour transaction volume. Meanwhile, digital crypto exchange platform Bitrue has finally announced the big ADA news it has been teasing over the past few days.
Data from crypto market intelligence provider Messari as of 11:19 p.m. ET on Feb. 23 showed that the Cardano blockchain recorded a transaction volume of $16.98 billion. The public blockchain platform now sits next to Bitcoin after overtaking Ethereum and Litecoin in daily transactions.
Bitcoin tops the chart with a $31.07 billion 24-hour estimated on-chain transaction volume. Ethereum and Litecoin recorded 6.27 billion and $2.90 billion transaction volume, respectively, during the same period.

Meanwhile, crypto exchange platform Bitrue has officially announced the addition of Cardano (ADA) as a base pair. Users can buy, sell, and trade ADA on the digital platform starting Thursday, Feb. 24.
"We are making #Cardano $ADA a base currency on Bitrue! As the latest step in our extensive Cardano support, 9 new pairs will be launching with /ADA starting Feb 24th at 12:00 UTC," Bitrue Twitter handle announced Wednesday.
Initial coin pairs include FLUX/ADA, DGB/ADA, RSR/ADA, GAS/ADA, SNT/ADA, CTSI/ADA, BNT/ADA, LOOM/ADA, and KNC/ADA. Bitrue said it would continue to add more trading pairs over time.
The crypto platform has been supporting the Cardano blockchain, and adding it as a base pair on its platform is the most recent step. Bitrue was the first crypto exchange for offering support for Cardano native assets in June last year with the launch of a suite of DeFi solutions tailored for Cardano called OccamFi.
"Bitrue has demonstrated a long-term commitment to the Cardano community and the multiple teams that are developing within it, progressively incorporating ADA into every product or service that is offered on the exchange. The inclusion of an ADA base-pair demonstrates our continued support for Cardano's native currency," Bitrue's Chief Marketing Officer Adam O'Neill said in a statement.
"The ADA community is rapidly expanding throughout the world as the digital currency continues to reach new milestones and establish itself as one of the key drivers of the new digital finance revolution. Similarly, we've noticed an incredible surge in the number of ADA fans on Bitrue, and it's our delight to present them with simple trading pairs that use ADA," O'Neill further said.
