Hardware-wise, Sony seems to be closing the battle to its favor, but even with news trickling in of shared games with its top competitor Microsoft, what's been revealed so far of Sony's lineup is proving to be a very diverse and impressive one.

Mad Max

One of Warner Bros. upcoming projects, also originally thought to be an exclusive on the PS4 may also make it not just to the Xbox One but also to current-gen consoles PS3 and Xbox 360.

Mad Max, a reported steampunk sandbox game, will be a shared game for the battling consoles. What makes this a game to be remembered and anticipated is the fact that it's a grim one wrapped in all the mystery that can be had featuring survival, combat, ad vehicles.

"Over a decade of creating open world experiences has led us to this point. This unforgiving environment inspired us to create a gritty and diverse experience where driving, fighting, and scavenging are essential for survival," said Christofer Sundberg of Avalanche Studios to Eurogamer.

Digital Trends also reveals that there are a lot of product features that come with the game, from Trash is Treasure, where you can test your resourcefulness and stealth by raiding enemy encampments, to Intense Vehicular Combats, which is a physics-based game, meaning the battle depends on the conditions, and not presupposed.

Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3

Two much awaited games from Square Enix are also coming, with the decade-in-the-making Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3 finally being released in time for the next generation platforms.

However, these two games, previously thought to be PS4 exclusives, will also be slated for release to the Xbox One. According to Venture Beat, this broke the distinctively lack of Japanese-developed games.

It remains to be seen how these two games will be like on the Xbox One, as the scheduled releases and dates of the console have not even tapped the Japanese market on their list as of yet.

Indies coming Sony's way

Aside from new games and blockbusters, Sony's lineup is shaping up to be an exciting play with the PS4, as a barrage of indie games aim for the platform.

Eurogamer lists down the confirmed indie games that can be expected for the PS4:

- Mercenary Kings

- Don't Starve (which has been making waves since it broke the news)

- Octodad: Dadliest Catch

- Secret Ponchos

- Galak-Z

- Ray's the Dead

- Transistor
