While gaming consoles and PC have mostly dominated the scene at the E3 2013, there's a brewing trend wherein mobile companions for console versions are also slated to come out.

Of the games presented at E3 2013, there are three that stand out, mostly because of the new features that they are offering.

Up first is Battlefield, which has already introduced a connectivity feature apart from its 64-man multiplayer mode. This added feature is the Commander Mode, which, according to EGM Now, lets players in on the interplay between consoles, PC, and mobile versions of the game.

Touch Arcade also adds that the mobile devices will allow captains to command and instruct other players or provide information real-time, which can mean a very unique and more powerful way to interact in a multiplayer set-up

This is a great way to highlight the now-powerful multiplayer online mode, and bring the competitiveness of players to an all-time high.

Watch Dogs gets a mobile app

Interactivity between devices seems to be the theme for Ubisoft's Watch Dogs and its companion app for the mobile.

Destructoid reports that in a live demo of the app featured in the E3 conference, it seemed that the app was an enjoyable way to pose challenges from the mobile device to the person who will be playing on the PC or console.

Ideally, the companion app is said to provide assistance, reports Game Informer, in such a way that hacking from afar can be dome remotely through tablet apps and in real-time.

This is because the most that you can see in the companion app is the map. This means that you as the tablet app player can drag around police choppers and road blocks anywhere in the map as you wish, which can pose as a challenge to the PC or console gamer.

Not only does it provide a great way to go cross-platform in more ways than just having a different port and UI for each platform, but it's also a great way to garner experience points outside of the game.

Trials Fusion & Trials Frontiers by Ubisoft

Ubisoft's panel at the E3 is having a great run with mobile app companions, as it features another one in the works.

This time it's a two-fold experience with Trials games--that's right, two of them. Trials Fusion is reported to be the one slated for release on the consoles, specifically the PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and the PC, reports IGN.

To accompany the game, there is also the Trials Frontiers, which will come to mobile. The report states that the two versions will have the ability to interact with each other, though in what particular manner is yet to be revealed.

Both games are reportedly coming next year. But the E3 2013 as already showcased the trailer for the two Trailer video, featuring the ability to "jump" through the two versions (quite literally), with the gameplay pretty much similar in terms of tricks and flips.
