Quick at the heels of Microsoft's Xbox One/Xbox 720 is Sony's PS4, which reports now state will be shipping a variety of versions in terms of hardware.

While the report is still coming from an unnamed source, GameSpot reports that some of the speculations include having a $399 version to the highest being a $599.

As for the technical differences such as in technical and hardware specifications, it's likely that Sony will be revealing everything come its panel at the E3 2013. However, if additional details in the reports are to be believed, Sony may be gearing towards a revolutionary technology.

This, in particular, seems to be no-glasses-needed 3D gameplays, which is hoped to be achieved with the use of its 4K resolution support and the console's other added next-gen features.

If this is the case, Microsoft may be looking at a potentially strong competition, starting with the price alone, as the Xbox One is slated for launch at $499 in the US and $599 in Australia.

Final Fantasy hits the PS4 as an exclusive

Ahead of Square Enix's big reveal at the E3 2013, a retailer had already briefly confirmed that the developer is planning to make the next Final Fantasy installment, dubbed as Final Fantasy 15, to the PS4 exclusive territory.

VG 24/7 reports that Amazon France has briefly listed the game before removing it, but not quickly enough before the news has started to circulate.

This bit of news will come as a confirmation to past rumors of how the renaming and rebranding of Final Fantasy may actually be on the PS4. The report also confirms Sony's previous word on a Final Fantasy franchise being revealed in time for E3 2013, though one might say that this actually came before the promised date.

Expect more from Square Enix's announcements for its E3 2013 panel, especially since it has already been confirmed beforehand that the developer already has the next-gen Final Fantasy installment in its game list for the tradeshow event.

A glimpse of indie: Blacklight Retribution

With Sony's campaign now pushing heavily on indies as well as AAA games, one of its next-gen games wasted no time in teasing gamers with a trailer.

The upcoming free-to-play first-person shooter game Blacklight Retribution is one of PS4's biggest acquisitions in terms of both free-to-play gaming and indie developed games,

Geeky-Gadgets reports that Blacklight Retribution is already out on the PC through Steam as early as last year, but is also expected to hit the PS4 later this year as a launch title for the PS4 console.

The game involves several maps as well as game types, with a focus on multiplayer and putting single-player modes on training and practice, rather than combat.

Some of the games that you can choose from include Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Domination, Kill Confirmed, King of the Hill, and Capture the Flag.
