The celebrity chef from UK Antony Worrall Thomson was warned by the police after he was caught stealing some cheese and wine in a Tesco shop right in Oxfordshire.

The chef was discovered to have not paid for the mentioned items at the store's self-service counter.

According to the statement released by the chef on his own website, he apologised for what he has done and considers the action afterwards as very "stupid' and even to an extent, "irresponsible." Thomson also cleared it out his intentions to seek some treatment so as to not further disappoint his closest friends and loving family.

He also apologised to the Tesco store with whom he shared a long working partnership with, along with the rest of the staff who make up the Henley branch. His own restaurant business was affected by the recent economic recession that has been happening in the past years. This forced him to even close four of his restaurants way back in 2009.

A part of the celebrity chef's statement says:

"I am not the first and I certainly won't be the last person to do something without rhyme or reason - what went through my head, only time will tell."
