CES 2015: Designer Jonathan Adler Has Given Garmin’s Vivofit Some Stylish New Look
Garmin has partnered with famous potter, designer and author Jonathan Adler. The collaboration between the company and the designer has resulted to a range of chic, pattern-printed accessory bands that will target to improve the look of the Vívofit and the recently announced Vívofit 2. Such outstanding technology partnered with modern style, the Adler + Garmin range promises to be both useful and stylish.
Garmin dubbed the preppy line as the "Style Collection" which provides a more premium and high-end touch for the wearable devices. According to The Verge, Adler has turned the fitness trackers into more colourful devices and has innovated with a latching mechanism wherein the clasp can be tucked into place and should be rotated 90 degrees to lock the tracker on the wrist so it guarantees to cling despite a rigid workout or strenuous activity.
Dan Bartel, Garmin vice president of worldwide sales said that the partnership between the company and Jonathan Adler has given the wearables a sense of combined fashion and usefulness. With the new collection, users will not compromise personal style and advanced technology. On the other hand, Jonathan Adler confessed that he himself is a fitness fanatic and is likewise thrilled to have worked with Garmin. The collection has brought stylish designs to the Vivofit line's interchangeable accessory bands.
Meanwhile, the Vivofit 2 has been updated to withstand constant activity and continued use. Garmin boasts of the wearables' one-year battery life, as well as its water resistance from up to 50 meters. The device can also be paired with a compatible heart rate monitoring app to track the wearer's heart rate. The Vivofit 2 can be synced with the user's smartphone with the Garmin Connect mobile app. With the new Style Collection, the Vivofit 2 comes in four different colours: black, white, navy, and pink.
Finally, the stylish fitness trackers will ship in the first quarter of 2015 and the Jonathan Adler + Garmin bands will arrive bundled with Vívofit 2 which can be purchased for US$139.99. The three-pack accessory bundle for the Vivofit 2 and the Vivofit are sold for US$39.99 per piece, PCMag reports.
