CES 2015: Lenovo Unveils The P90 Smartphone That Is Ready To Clash With Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus
Other major players have their own devices to boast in this year's much anticipated tech show, of which Lenovo also took part in. The Chinese tech company unveiled its new smart device called the Lenovo P90.
The P90 is the second Intel-powered smartphone by Lenovo, but it is the first of its kind to use the new Z3560 processor that has a quad-core 1.83 GHz 64-bit chip. This new release from Lenovo is also equipped with an Intel 4G LTE modem. The combination of the powerful processor and the speedy LTE results in the P90's performance to be at par with its major rivals in the market, CNET opines.
The P90 also showcases its 5.5-inch display with a high resolution of 1,920 x 1,080. It comes with a 4,000 mAh battery that could last more than a day of usage, estimates TechnoBuffalo. The device runs on Lenovo's VIBE UI 2.0 interface and uses Android 4.4 Kitkat as its platform, but it is expected that it will also get the Lollipop update in future.
In addition to its specs, the P90 boasts a 13-MP rear camera equipped with optical image stabilisation plus a 5-MP front-facing wide-angle camera. The P90's camera can be matched with another Lenovo device to hit the CES 2015 event, the Selfie Flash. Based on The Verge, the Lenovo Vibe Xtension Selfie Flash is said to be the best remedy for selfie lovers, who want to capture photos in bad lighting condition. The device is equipped with eight diffused LED lights and has a small button at the back that allows users to take selfies.
According to CNET, the model with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage will be available by February and will cost U.S.$369. There is no confirmation from Lenovo on which countries the P90 will be made available to, but if it ends up in Australia and in the U.K., it might be sold for around AU$460 and 240 pounds, respectively. The P90 is available in pearl white, onyx black and lava red variants.
