Chelsea will be looking to devise a plan to acquire Monaco striker Radamel Falcao on a loan deal in January.

It's been only four months since the Colombian switched sides from La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid to the French club, but reportedly wants to settle elsewhere because his signed €14m-a-year earning is reduced to around €7m due to taxation, according to The Daily Star.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho witnessed Colombia's 2-0 win against Belgium wherein Falcao netted one of the goals.

The 27-year-old has been synonymous to the term "goals" since his days in Spain, and he will be a welcome addition to the Blues squad as strikers Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto'o, and Demba Ba have not been inconsistent, thus far.

However, Chelsea are not without a rival in luring Falcao away from France as Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelloti is also a keen suitor.

Falcao has tallied 18 goals for club and country in these early stages of the season.
