FC Barcelona has been reported to have had conversations with Sergio Aguero's agent, Hernan Reguera, inquiring on whether the striker is interested to strut his wares at the Camp Nou, according to Barcelona newspaper "Sport."

It was further stated that while the Catalan club acknowledges the difficulty that they will be facing in signing the Argentine, they will not leave any stone unturned by primarily, ascertaining if the 25-year-old wants to leave Manchester City, and secondly, by holding a series of meetings with his agent, who has been based in Barcelona for the preceding two months.

The Barcelona officers are, however, demanding Reguera that they be "welcomed to open formal negotiations" before the year ends.

Should everything go smoothly in Spain, the Barca representatives' next stage is to head to Manchester to discuss the possible transfer fee, which has been reported to be in the region of €50million.

However, the strained relationship between Barca president, Sandro Rosell, and Manchester City CEO, Ferran Soriano, might make it more difficult to officially commence talks with the Premier League side.
