Chris Brown has been sentenced to an additional 1,000 hours of community service after a judge found him of falsifying his records. The Los Angeles County District Attorney believes that the controversial singer violated his probation by submitting bogus community service reports.

The 24-year-old singer is serving probation from his 2009 assault charge, in which he beat his then-girlfriend Rihanna, leaving her with visible facial injuries.

According to TMZ, the D.A. believes that Brown falsified his community service reports, claiming on one occasion that he was picking up trash in Virginia when he was actually aboard a private jet to Cancun.

The judge had already revoked his probation in July in the wake of a separate hit-and-run allegation, but reinstated it on Friday on the condition that Brown completes 1,000 hours more of community service.

The discrepancy in Brown’s original service hours rendered his records useless. He won’t get any credit for the service he may or may not have completed so he would need to start over. He was originally sentenced to 180 days or 1,440 hours of community labour.

He can perform the labour through Caltrans or highway cleanup, beach cleanup, probation alternative work services (PAWS), or graffiti removal. If he decided to serve full-time, which is 40 hours per week, he would be able to finish the 1,000 hours in just two and a half months.

In addition, his community service must be supervised by L.A. County officials.

He appeared to be understandably frustrated at the new development in his case.

According to eonline.com, he was heard telling his attorney aloud in the room, “I understand. I understand. I am going to say whatever I want to. It’s how I feel. I don’t care.”

Brown, who was joined by his mother Joyce Hawkins in court, must also contact the probation department within 48 hours.

His probation will end on Aug 25, 2014.
