Zynga is setting up payment mechanisms in countries where credit cards aren’t the norm. The maker of CityVille, FarmVille, Empires & Allies and Zynga Poker announced Thursday it has cut deals to distribute its prepaid Zynga Game Cards in Europe and Turkey.

The social games developer has partnered with epay, a division of Euronet Worldwide, Inc., to enable consumers to purchase Zynga Game Cards through epay’s cash load network. The service will be offered in 18 countries across Europe, making it the first time Zynga Game Cards will be available in many of these markets.

“Zynga recognizes epay’s leadership for prepaid solutions within the European marketplace as well as the speed in which they are rolling out to emerging markets,” said Ryan Linton, senior director of business development. “epay will provide us with a way to leverage their strong network of premium retailers as well as their robust payment processing infrastructure to enable more of our international players to purchase Zynga Game Cards in a convenient way.”

“epay couldn’t be happier to partner with such a key player in social gaming to provide consumers the added convenience of purchasing Zynga Game Cards in epay’s retail partners,” said Kevin Caponecchi, president of Euronet Worldwide. “epay is equally excited to be the first to bring this new product to key markets throughout Europe, and we are optimistic this product will drive incremental footfall and revenues for our retail partners.”

epay is making Zynga Game Cards available in the following countries across Europe: The UK, France, Spain, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, Portugal, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Greece, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic and Croatia.
