“Clash of Clans” is giving players another reason to join a clan. In the latest update, players can now issue Friendly Challenges to clanmates and train against each other for practice or fun.

Announced via the “Clash of Clans” blog, developer Supercell confirmed that these Friendly Challenges are unlimited and free of charges when it comes to gold or Troops, Spells, Heroes or Traps consumption. Of course, with no cost comes no prizes either, so don’t expect to get resources, Trophies or other bonuses.

Still this is a great way to practice and test one’s defenses. At the same time, it allows clans to become more united as a team. There are some things to take note of when issuing and accepting Friendly Challenges.

Players can invite clanmates to attack a village by choosing the Challenge button on the Clan chat. Either the active layout or other layouts and War Bases can be used during Friendly Challenges.

After the note is posted on the clan chat, any of the Clan members can accept the Friendly Challenge. Any troops that are in the Clan Castle from the time that the challenge was issued can be used as defensive troops, though they will not be lost after the battle.

For “Clash of Clans” players who are accepting a Friendly Challenge, they will be able to use the current army. Again, since no resources are lost, players can go all-out when sending out troops and casting spells. The great thing about Friendly Challenges is that they can be viewed by clanmates either as replays or live attack coverage.

“Friendly Challenges will provide you with an awesome way to improve your attacking skills, perfect your defensive layouts, experiment with different troops, or just have fun,” said “The Clash of Clans” team over at the official blog. “We hope to see Friendly Challenges widely used! We see the ability to practice attacks at any time helping to motivate new attacking and defending strategies, and help Clans get even better at playing together.

Supercell has yet to release the Friendly Challenge update. Butt to keep “Clash of Clans” players in the game, the one-gem resource boost is currently ongoing. This special event will last until the Friendly Challenge update goes live, so best to make the most out of it.

The new big update is just the latest of Supercell’s plans for “Clash of Clans.” The developer has been doling updates featuring new troops and features that keep the players hooked to the game.

In fact, the game has been so successful, Supercell had been able to boost Finland’s revenues from capital gains tax by a fifth, Eurogamer reported. While a big part of this is thanks to Supercell’s top execs, it does show that the studio’s games, “Clash of Clans” and “Clash Royale,” as primary examples are still resounding names in the gaming industry.
