Consumers Should Not Expect iPhone 6, 5S Release Date Next Week; Apple to Give a Hint on Handsets’ New Features?
Consumers should not have high hopes that the iPhone 6 and iPhone 5S will be released next week at Apple's WorldWide Developers' Conference.
Apple's annual WWDC Keynote played host to an iPhone launch or two, but this year the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 6 are as likely to show up at the event. There is an undying rumour tech giant Apple will release the next generation of iPhone this month at the imminent WWDC hosted by the company annually.
The unannounced iPhone 6 and iPhone 5S are clouded by a myriad of rumours. A lot of concept renders are emerging on the internet as the devices' release date nears.
Rumour has it that the next iPhone will feature Retina or IGZO screen display, A7 quad core chip processor, iOS 7, 128GB internal storage, 13 mega-pixel camera, and longer battery life. The lack of NFC support on the iPhone 5 was one of the biggest criticisms aimed at Apple's smartphone.
Meanwhile, the cheaper iPhone 5S is rumoured to sport a plastic casing, 4-inch screen display, dual core processor and 8-megapixel camera.
There is also a rumour that the iPhone 5S will support AirDrop as an exclusive iOS 7 feature. Apple typically saves one big feature and several smaller ones for the latest iPhone, especially on an "S" model. The iPhone 4S saw Siri exclusivity for example.
The latest iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 rumours point to release dates much later. The iPhone 5S launch event could arrive in roughly three months, which is just enough time for Apple to test an iOS 7 beta. The iPhone 6 release rumors, which come from analysts point to 2014. While Apple doesn't comment on future products, based on past naming schemes and actions an iPhone 5S is widely expected in 2013 and an iPhone 6 in 2014.
It is initially reported that the new iPhones will be launched in June along with the upgraded iOS. However, other reports stated that the devices will make its debut in September.
The Apple chief Tim Cook also dropped several hints that the upcoming iPhone 6 and 5S will be released later this year. Cook said that no new products are to launch before the end of the year.
Additionally, while there are many alleged iPhone 5S parts leaking, we have not seen yet a full iPhone 5S prototype leak. More often than not we know more about a new iPhone a week before the announcement. Two weeks before the iPhone 5 event, photos of an assembled iPhone 5 shell appeared online, along with many other leaks, the likes fo which we haven't seen for the iPhone 5S or iPhone 6.
