Recent reports claim that engaged couple Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus have split while the "Hunger Games" actor is still in Australia. Liam Hemsworth was spotted on Wednesday with his mother, Leonie, shopping for some supplies at a supermarket.

Liam Hemsworth arrived in Australia last week. "He needed to get away from Los Angeles and spend some time with his brother and friends," a source revealed to Page Six. The 23-year-old Australian actor appeared to be in a good mood as he spent some quality time with his family and close friends.

Liam and Miley met and fell in-love on the set of "The Last Song" in 2010 then got engaged in June 2012. However, it now appears that the couple is being put to the test as problems plagued their relationship.

There were claims that Liam Hemsworth has been struggling with his 20-year-old fiancée's sudden image change of bleaching her hair blonde then cutting it really short. Other reports are suggesting that the couple's rocky relationship began after Liam Hemsworth allegedly flirted with "Mad Men" actress January Jones during a pre-Oscars party last February.

An anonymous source confirmed that Liam Hemsworth decided to come home to his native country for a deserved break from Miley Cyrus. "Liam did fly home to Australia so they could have a break. He has been spending time with his brother Chris, with whom he is very close," the source revealed. The young actor was also spotted having fun and looking hot while shirtless at an Australian beach.

Miley Cyrus was recently spotted not wearing the 3.5-carat diamond Neil Lane engagement ring on her finger which became another possible sign to prove that there is something wrong in the couple's relationship. Amid the split rumors, the Disney star is now reportedly busy working on with the music for her upcoming album.
