'Criminal Minds' Season 10 Casting News: 'Teen Wolf' Actor Ian Nelson To Make A Guest Appearance In An Episode Of Upcoming New Season
A familiar face from the MTV supernatural series "Teen Wolf" will be popping up in "Criminal Minds" Season 10. The latest casting reports revealed "Teen Wolf" actor Ian Nelson is set to make a guest appearance in an episode of the upcoming CBS Network's TV series.
According to a TVLine report, the 19-year-old actor will portray an emotionally complex teenager who who gets frightened due to the receipt of morbid selfie images that were posted online. The report further revealed that series creator Jeff Davis is the person behind Ian Nelson's shift from the supernatural world of "Teen Wolf" to the crime drama series.
"Teen Wolf" fans can remember Ian Nelson as the actor who portrays the younger version of Derek Hale in the MTV series. At the moment, it is still unknown if Ian Nelson will be appearing again in "Teen Wolf" Season 5 as the young Derek.
"Teen Wolf" Season 4 ended with an evolved Derek Hale (Tyler Hoechlin) with his wolf powers restored. In an Entertainment Weekly interview, series creator Jeff Davis talked about the evolution of the character in "Teen Wolf."
"He's been evolving from season 1, and if he can't be an alpha, the idea that he has to be reborn again as something greater was very appealing to us as writers that we would finally see him rise up," Davis explained. The series creator further teased that Derek Hale has now reached a level of power where he has influence over his body transformation.
Next time the fans see Derek in "Teen Wolf," the supernatural creature can now transform completely and disappear into nature which is something that Jeff Davis considers the "most powerful part of being a werewolf." As for Ian Nelson portraying the young Derek Hale, there is still a chance for the actor to return or appear again in "Teen Wolf" perhaps in flashback scenes to the time when Derek was a teenager.
In the meantime, fans can watch actor Ian Nelson's guest appearance in "Criminal Minds" when the drama series returns with the brand new season 10 on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 9/8c on CBS.
