When Criminal Minds ended Season 8, Erin Strauss has been killed by The Replicator, the season-long stalker who had been targeting the BAU team.

Now, amid all the new information and hopeful wishes of fans, where exactly will the new season's direction take it? Here are some new speculations and spoilers before you enjoy the Criminal Minds Season 9 Premiere on September 25.

If someone dies, someone is bound to return?

The Season 8 Finale was uncommon for Criminal Minds. The show is more known for taking you through a painstakingly profound ride through the mind of the worst criminal--and then pulling a cliffhanger for the reveal on the Criminal Minds Season 9 premiere.

It seems that the writers have pulled the harder blows in order to give a heavy but also hopeful ending in anticipation of the next one. For Prentiss fans, here's a Criminal Minds Season 9 Spoiler or teaser if you will:

Spoiler TV has spotted very teasing tweet from Paget Brewster, who plays Agent Emily Prentiss in the show. For those who don't remember, Prentiss had taken off in Season 7, leaving the BAU to pursue an offer to run the Interpol's London office.

Her tweet goes, "I sure hope @Dayne9165 has been keeping my make up hidden in a cupboard for a reason...."

So does this mean a comeback or at least a guest-spot for the Criminal Minds Season 9 Premiere or for another episode? A lot of fans are crossing their fingers and hoping for the best--are you one of them? Or is Prentiss better left at having moved on from the BAU team to her own life in London?

More guest stars

Enstarz.com has recently released new information gathered from CBS Network pertaining to the third episode of the show. Already titled Final Shot, it seems that the episode will coincide with the anniversary of John F. Kennedy's assassination, hence the nod to the incident.

According to the synopsis that was posted by the report (Criminal Minds Season 9 spoilers ahead):

"When a sniper strikes Dallas, the BAU investigates whether the upcoming anniversary of the Kennedy assassination is a motivating factor or if something else is driving the UnSub, on Criminal Minds, Wednesday, Oct 9."

The guest star for this episode is CSI: Miami's Eva LaRue. Another guest star who will be gracing the show this season is Camryn Manheim, who will play the mother of an UnSub for the two-part Criminal Minds Season 9 Premiere.

Huffington Post reports that the character will be more than just your average grieving or in-denial mother, as hints of her having secrets of her own have surfaced.

All in all, Criminal Minds Season 9 is already brewing some very punch-packed episodes, not to mention the 200th episode already underway. As an ending note, writer and producer Erica Messer talks to TV Guide on what can be expected in the Criminal Minds Season 9 Premiere and the whole season after everything that's happened.

"I'm always a fan of telling us more stories about the heroes. I'll definitely be looking for those stories," said Messer to TV Guide. "I think we're going to have a really fun year and I look at these next two years at possibly doing bigger arcs."
