[UPDATE: Recap of the latest episode--see Haley and Hotchner together again for the last time.]

Criminal Minds Season 9 will cater to more than just the fans of A.J. Cook who plays Agent Jennifer "JJ" Jareau, because the 200th episode will also be a surprise for fans of Paget Brewster.

Brewster had played Agent Emily Prentiss in six seasons, and but had to leave as she now heads the Interpol London office. But Episode 200, which will be the 14th episode in the Criminal Minds Season 9, will reunite her with the BAU team.

No details have been posted yet on what exactly will bring Emily home to her BAU family, but given that the writers have promised a look at the origin stories of the cast, Brewster's cameo appearance may be a special one.

"Our 200th episode is going to be a special show," said executive producer Erica Messer in a statement quoted by Entertainment Weekly. "We can't imagine telling this story without Paget being present."

Matthew Gray Gubler: On directing and being Reid

One of the lovable cast members who probably had the roughest time coming into the Criminal Minds Season 9 is Dr. Spencer Reid. After seeing his potential partner Maeve get shot in front of him--and after the sweet and innocent courtship over the phone, too!--Reid of the loss. Matthew Gray Gubler who plays the role, on the other hand, has high hopes for Reid's future.

Speaking in an exclusive with AssignmentX, Gubler reveals that he will be directing two more episodes for Criminal Minds Season 9. Not only will this bring his directed episodes to seven, but it also means that you can expect two more brilliantly creepy episodes from Gubler.

In terms of his social life following Maeve's death, the actor does wish Reid would get a break and enjoy a streak of good luck this season. "He's [Spencer Reid] had a hard couple of decades. The girlfriend getting shot in front of him," said Gubler to AssignmentX. "It's been a hard one for Reid, but hopefully, he'll find some happiness."

Derek Morgan's personal life in the spotlight

For the most part, resident muscle man and cool guy Derek Morgan has shown one part of his life on Criminal Minds, which was his abuse back as a kid.

But other than this, he is usually seen joking around with Penelope Garcia, teasing Reid, or being the dependable teammate. This season, writer Erica Messer reveals that fans may get a deeper look at Morgan's relationship outside the BAU team--and they may find a lovely lady this season, too!

"There's a line in the premiere where someone says to Morgan when they're called in for the case, 'You were supposed to be on a date,' and Morgan says, 'Yeah, she's my neighbor.' So we were trying to pay that off with a girlfriend later on," said Messer to TV Guide.

Though there has been no concrete talk as to whether or not viewers will finally get to see the romantic side of Morgan beyond his playboy appeal, it seems like this will be a character story for fans of Shemar Moore, who plays the role.

Criminal Minds Season 9 has premiered with an explosive and cliffhanger story last September 25 via CBS. Watch out for recaps and reviews for the second part of the two-episode Criminal Minds Season 9 Premiere.
