The star-studded cast of Tim Burtons' "Dark Shadows" hit the red carpet premiere at Hollywood and London.

While Johnny Depp may play a vampire in the film, the 48-year old actor looked nowhere close to the undead. Joined by the lovely, Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green and Chloe Moretz, the premiere appeared to be a blast.

Johnny Depp along with Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green, Chloe Moretz and Bella Heathcote first hit off the Monday night premiere at Grauman's Chinese Theatre at Hollywood. Director, Tim Burton, also took part in the red carpet premiere while his wife, Helena Bonham Carter appeared at the London, European Premiere.

Given that fans are still on the 50/50 take of the films' remake, what does Johnny Depp have to say?

"What was important was, there was no way to do the show as a film," shared Depp.

"There was no way to do that. So what we did is we basically relied on our memories of it and what it made us feel like and also the idea of this vampire coming back 200 years later to a period that is so radically different from where he comes from. 1972 was just the most bizarre period ever."

Even Michelle Pfeiffer, who stars as Elizabeth Collins Stoddard, explains why their take on the classic television series was different on film.

"Our movie isn't all that reflective really of the original series," explained Michelle.

"It's more of a homage really, but Tim has a very distinct stamp on this and it's really more of a Tim Burton movie."

So the story might have deviated from the classic television series but the era and clothes have by far been adapted into the film. Director Tim Burton made sure that the story was still within the early 70's which meant the cast had to dress up in 1970's classic attires.

"I love the hair, the makeup, the shoes, I love all of it for women," said Pfeiffer on her take on the clothes. "For men, I don't think it is a great period. It's not good for men."

However, not everyone in the cast was pleased with the clothes, of which includes Burton's wife, Helena Bonham Carter. Helena who stars as Dr. Julia Hoffman, the family psychiatrist, says the clothing during that era was "not at all flattering".

Thankfully, during the casts' red carpet premiere, the 1970's look wasn't at all incorporated. Chloe Moretz looked all grown-up with her blue mini dress during the Hollywood premiere. Eva Green stunned the crowd with her black studded figure hugging gown.

"Dark Shadows" is soon to hit theatres this May 11.
