Dell Venue 8 7000 Is the World’s Thinnest Tablet Featuring Three Rear Cameras For 3D Photography, Priced At $499
The Apple iPad Air 2 with a thickness of 6.1 mm is being marketed as the slimmest tablet in the world. However, Dell is going to soon take over this title with the all new Venue 8 7000 tablet. It beats the iPad Air by 0.1 mm as its thickness is 6 mm. It weighs 310 g.
According to PhoneArena, the Dell Venue 8 7000 is expected to get revealed in the coming month. The tablet was announced in September during the Intel Developer Forum 2014. It will come out with a price tag of $499 in the U.S.
The Dell Venue 8 7000 has an 8.4-inch OLED display screen. It supports a display resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels. It is powered with the Intel Atom Z3500 chipset that may feature the Intel Moorefield quad-core processor that produces a clocking speed of 2.33 GHz along with 2 GB RAM. It also has a PowerVR G6430 GPU onboard.
It is packed with an internal storage of 16 GB and it even features a microSD expansion card slot. It also comes with two stereo speakers. It will come preloaded with Android KitKat v4.4.2.
The coolest thing about the Dell Venue 8 7000 features three rear cameras out of which the primary camera is of 8 MP and other two are secondary cameras. The reason why Dell has fitted the tablet with three cameras is that with the RealSense 3D technology from Intel onboard, the device will be able to snap 3D photos and videos. The front-facing camera is of 2 MP.
The Dell Venue 8 7000 will not feature LTE connectivity and there is no confirmation on the size of the battery. However, Whatech claims that the tablet will be equipped a battery of over 3,000 mAh capacity. It will be available in black colour.
