Destiny Beta: Questions Answered, Gameplays Revealed and PS3, Xbox 360 Incompatibility Issues
In three days, the "Destiny" beta for the PS4 and PS3 will be starting, and developer Bungie has given a few more reminders before embarking on the journey.
First is that, as all betas go, they are not promising that the game will go according to plan, given that the developers will be monitoring what goes on so that it will allow them to improve "Destiny" even more.
"We'd love to tell you that everything will go according to plan, but that wouldn't be any fun. That wouldn't teach us a thing. Even if the Beta is working perfectly, one of the alpha-geeks in the operations center is gonna kick it to see if it still works," said Bungie in the official "Destiny" Web site. "Fortunately, we'll be going to great lengths to keep you informed and keep you in the game.
Once the "Destiny" beta begins, Bungie has also stated that the site will get a facelift to provide a hub for any problems or issues that players encounter. This new site is Destiny.help.bungie.net, and it will also be the place where Bungie will be answering queries for the beta.
For those who are more inclined towards Twitter, @BungieHelp will also be a place to get status updates from the developers.
More 'Destiny' Beta Questions Answered
Bungie has also answered a few confusing issues with "Destiny" beta. The Ghost Editions of the game are considered limited, and the developers have not yet decided if they will be adding more of these editions to the market, as they want to keep the feeling of special and exotic editions for those who have it.
For those in Australia, players would need to choose the Global region during the beta. Bungie's instruction is that, as long as you are not in North America, Global would be the option to choose between "Americas" and "Global."
Incompatibility Issues Found for Xbox 360 and PS4 Models
For those who are still thinking of getting into the beta of "Destiny," there's one particular issue that you may need to sort out first.
Destiny@MMMOs, a "Destiny" fan site has posted a reminder that there are some models of the PS3 and Xbox 360 that will not be compatible with "Destiny." This is mostly due to the hard drive requirement that "Destiny" needs in order to run on the consoles.
Basically all PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 console systems are compatible with "Destiny," except for four systems:
- Xbox 360 Arcade Console
- Xbox 360 4GB Console
- Xbox 360 Core System
- PS3 12 GB System
If you do have any of these systems, there is a way by which you can still play, one of which would be to obtain a hard drive upgrade by consulting with the manufacturer.
