‘Destiny’ dev details 2.01 changes, offers fixes and explanations for PS4 patch bug, microtransaction plans
After letting “Destiny” players preview the new emotes that are purchased the new in-game currency Silver, Bungie has detailed the new changes that will dawn with the patch 2.0.1. The new list of changes and features is quite long, as it targets a broad range of the game including weapons, armour, bounties, strikes and more.
In the latest Bungie Weekly Update, the developer has introduced some general changes, which push changes further for The Taken King. To start off with, Silver can now be purchased from console stores alongside Tess Everis returning to the Tower. Those who will be visiting the Tower should also expect a new look to match the Eververse Trading Company addition.
Part of the new content is the inclusion of new currency. But some players appeared to be a little hesitant about microtransactions in the game. Bungie has also aimed to clear this up by stating that these will not affect the overall gameplay or drops for players, Polygon reported.
Bungie’s Luke Smith confirmed that Eververse Trading Co. will not be selling items that buff the King’s Fall drop rates. According to the source, this is in response to gamers who have found what appears to be a list of microtransaction items that included those that can increase drops in the raid. Bungie has yet to detail what kind of items will be included for Eververse Trading Co.
Even with the new update, there are a couple of players that encountered more than just the fixes. It appears that the patch also included an issues with the patch, specifically those who are using the PS4. GamesRadar reported that those who see an 18GB patch should avoid downloading the update, as it is a corrupted version.
What can be done, according to the source is to cancel the download when a message pops up stating the file is corrupted. Afterwards, the player can clear the cache in the PS4 and restart download. Even those who are seeing an 18GB file for download but are not getting an error message, Bungie has confirmed that sometimes, this is what happens with the console. It should still be downloading the 500MB file.
