‘Destiny’ Tips And Leaks: A Way to Beat Nightfall Boss And A Warning to Modded Console Players
If you have been playing "Destiny" since the release of its expansion "The Dark Below," one of your woes may be getting through Omnigul, the Hive Wizard and boss of the Will of Crota Strike. You're not alone-a number of "Destiny" players have been sharing their two cents' over how they think the new boss of nightfall is. Over at GameFAQS, fans are discussing how it's impossible to do the Omnigul Earth Strike on Nightfall with just one player.
"After killing Omnigul, I looked in the room to see if there was a safe spot to hide, but I really don't see anything. I think this may be the one strike you can't really solo, and even if you did, it would take too long for the effort," said user G1243 over at GameFAQS.
Other players are also confirming this, stating that the mission is not worth it because the boss is not worth the effort. There are also those who claim that even with effort, you are not assured of a victory in the end.
Thankfully, some player have found a viable way to beat the Nightfall Strike, as with Redditor LilGuppy. According to the source, you will need two people when you reach the boss in the last room. What you need to do is battle off the first wave of enemies, run through the room and under the boss towards the opposite side wall. Here's the tricky part that requires coordination between the two people.
On the second story in the room, you will see a tiny room that has black crystals and filing cabinets to jump on to. According to the Redditor, a player who stands on the crystals will not be shot. This means that one of the two players will need to jump on to the black crystal while the other person who can wield a gun better should just stand and start shooting the boss.
All the first person on the black crystal will need to do is revive the person who is shooting. If you're good with guns, the boss will reportedly go down as quickly as two minutes. The clip seen in this link shows the Redditor and another person demonstrating the technique.
In another Reddit thread, Redditor 4brownbrotha has posted a video showing off the same technique, as seen in the video. One tip that the video creator has given is for the shooter to make use of a sniper so that you can deal 11,000 damage for every shot, making the takedown a little quicker.
While some players will probably make use of the little tips that fellow players are finding and posting online, there are some that still continue to opt for the easier way to play-via modded consoles. However, this method may no longer work as well in players' favour, especially now that Bungie seems to be bent on banning players using modded consoles. GameSpot has seen the latest update, where the developer has announced what it will be doing to players on modded consoles.
"We routinely review Banhammer actions to ensure that they are applied accurately and fairly. A review of the bans applied over the last week shows that all of the affected accounts had logged into 'Destiny' on a modified console at some point," said Bungie in the update as quoted by GameSpot.
While Bungie is reportedly not pointing fingers or giving accusations of anyone being cheaters. But considering the fact that the banned accounts were on modded consoles, it's not impossible to think that some cheating has happened during the time these players were logged in via the modded account. No word has been given on how to remove the ban yet.
