‘Destiny’ Trials Of Osiris Mode Brings Crucible Changes; Fix Coming For Black Hammer Issue
Bungie concludes April with a new sneak peek at what’s to come in “Destiny” with the second expansion House of Wolves. Following another Twitch live stream, new details and changes will be made to the Crucible.
Players who want a better PvP will be getting it, thanks to the improvement of the rewards, doubled reputation, and doubled engram drops. According to Kotaku, this makes the Crucible more or a real multiplayer experience rather than the daily grind for prizes.
As the title of the live stream reveal goes, the Trials of Osiris mode was released. The new mode features a three-on-three elimination mode, and the first to kill off all the members of the other team wins. The challenge for the new “Destiny” mode is to survive while maximising a player’s level advantage, as there are no respawns. But players will have the ability to revive their teammates. There will be five rounds in total to decide on the winning team.
There are two things to bear in mind before jumping into the mode. The first is that players need a full team to even start it, and the next is that a Trials Passage scorecard is needed to get through the door. The Trials Passage can be obtained in two ways. GameSpot reports that accepting quests by talking to the Reef’s NPCs will be an easy way to obtain them. But further on, it will be a purchase of 100 Glimmer for each scorecard.
The use of the Trials Passsage depends on how many wins and losses you obtain. Three losses means turning in the Trials Passage. But rewards for winning accumulate based on how many times a player wins. The rewards vary, but apart from material rewards including the blue package and the Legendary package, some tiers for winning include the ability to purchase different gears, such as weekly armours, weapons and even a legendary package.
The Trials of Osiris will be feature new weekly challenges. These will be available every Friday and will leave on Sundays, reports PlayStation Blog. Those playing “Destiny” on PlayStation consoles will also enjoy the exclusive Timekeeper map.
While waiting for the House of Wolves “Destiny” expansion, players can also wait for another fix after a new issue brought by the 1.1.2 Update. Gamerant spotted Bungie’s announcement that made the Black Hammer sniper less effective.
The Black Hammer is a high-profile and rare weapon, given how hard it is to come by. However, in trying to nerf the exploit that come with its White Nail upgrade, Black Hammer was also affected when battling the Fallen Walker. Bungie has already stated that a fix is coming to bring back the state of the Black Hammer’s White Nail perk.
