After her Indonesian fans have battled it out with the Islamic group that is preventing Lady Gaga to perform in their country, the singer announced on Twitter that her Jakarta, Indonesia concert is cancelled.

The Jakarta concert was said to be her largest gig on all of her Asian tour but a 'devastated' Gaga announced the cancellation after a series of threats from Islamic hardliners.

Promoters and producers of her supposed to be Jakarta concert pulled the plug of her "Born This Way Ball Tour" after religious groups have promised "chaos" if Gaga was allowed to hold the concert in the country.

Being the world's largest Muslin-majority nation, the Islamic Defenders Front in Jakarta have called the singer a "devil's messenger" who would corrupt the youth of Indonesia with her sexy and provocative clothes on and off stage.

Despite the promoter's attempt to weigh it out if the protests would tone down before the scheduled June 3 concert, Lady Gaga's management has made a firm decision and insisted that there would be no compromise.

Indonesian police have said that they cannot guarantee the safety of the singer once she steps out of the plane thus, she was denied of a permit to perform.

"Lady Gaga's management has considered the situation minute to minute, and with threats if the concert goes ahead, Lady Gaga's side is calling off the concert," Minola Sebayang said, lawyer for Big Daddy Promotion.

"This is not only about Lady Gaga's security, but extends to those who will be watching her."

After the concert cancellation was announced, the singer posted a message on Twitter saying, "There is nothing Holy about hatred." Her supposed to be Indonesian concert has already sold about 50,000 tickets.

"We had to cancel the concert in Indonesia. I'm so very sorry to the fans and just as devastated as you if not more," Lady Gaga and Mother Monster to her fans said on Twitter. "You are everything to me. I will try to put together something special for you. My love for Indonesia has only grown."
