Developer of 'Batman: Arkham Knight' details upcoming interim patch
“Batman: Arkham Knight” is the last installment for the "Arkham" games, and it was positively received by players. Some have even dubbed it as the best entry in the series. Despite its generally positive reception, the game has failed when it comes to the PC version. The problem stems from several bugs and glitches that render the game unplayable.
Since its launch for the PC, “Batman: Arkham Knight” was a disastrous wreck, so much so that Warner Bros. Interactive and Rocksteady Studios have pulled out the game from retailers and Steam. However, it seems that the developer is starting to fix the game as it has released details on the first patch it is working on, despite the release still a couple of weeks away.
The details can be seen on the “Batman: Arkham Knight” forums, as posted by Community Manager Yorrick. He described the progress of what he calls as an interim patch and said that they are currently testing the said patch. He added that the update can be expected in the next two weeks, so it could arrive mid-September. Players could only hope that this patch could fix the game entirely as the first patch that was released just days after the failed launch didn’t do anything to fix the game.
However, the interim patch may not completely fix the game. Those who currently own the PC version of the game will see some improvements upon updating, but there will still be some bugs along the way. A report by Kotaku reveals through a leaked email by EB Games Australia that the game will not be fully fixed until later this fall.
The interim patch will bring with it a slew of fixes that could improve the game. The fixes include reduced frame rate hitches, optimisation system on memory and VRAM usage and an improved performance on all graphics processing units, or GPUs.
