‘DmC: Devil May Cry’ Gets Definitive for PS4, PC And Xbox One
You can't keep a good sibling rivalry down. Just ask Dante and Virgil! These two half-demon brothers have been at it for ages, from the classic Playstation 2 era to the all-new, all-different PS3 and Xbox 360 age it is clear that these two will always have bad blood for each other. Soon players will get to relive some of that bad history as the Capcom Unity Blog has announced the "DmC: Devil May Cry: The Definitive Edition" is set for release on March 2015.
This is a re-release of "DmC: Devil May Cry" originally released on last-gen consoles with all the previous downloadable content in the game and a ton of new features. The game was a hard reboot of the series that originally came out on the PlayStation 2 and featured a completely different storyline that was unrelated to the original. Though many critics praised its gameplay mechanics -- Metacritic's estimated score for it is 85 -- many hardcore fans were disappointed in the new character designs and storyline of the game. Angry Joe in particular stated that he hates the new look that was given to Dante, even though he praised the gameplay.
Dominic Matthews from the US PlayStation Blog stated that the creators have been listening to fan requests and have fine-tuned the game to perfection while adding more modes and difficulty levels. Such features include a snazzy 60 FPS and 1080p resolution, improved graphics, the previously mentioned DLC, retro skins for Dante and Virgil, new difficulty levels, improved balance issues and a brand new cut scene that was originally cut from the original release. It's clear that the creators poured their heart into bringing this game to the next generation, and with a special teaser being teased it's nice to know that this is no regular port.
A special edition of "Devil May Cry 4" was also announced through the Capcom Unity Blog, though no details or release dates were given. This was the last game from the previous "Devil May Cry" continuity before being scrapped in favor of the reboot so it looks like this release was made to please old fans of the series.
Whether you're an old school DMC fan or prefer the new update, it's obvious that Capcom has something for everyone next year. "DmC: Devil May Cry: The Definitive Edition" comes out on Mar. 17, 2015 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
