New sound mod has been released for Sony Xperia devices running the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop software version. It replaces the default sound enhancements by Sony such as ClearAudio and xLOUD.
New Sound Enhancements For Sony Xperia Devices With Android 5.0.2 Lollipop
XDA senior member Rajeev uploaded a sound mod for any Sony Xperia device running Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. Rajeev found the sound mod in one of the Russian Android forums which features headphone sound boost, Dolby Digital Plus and Beats Sound. Once applied, it will automatically replace any default Sony sound enhancements, which means users must create a backup of the current stock ROM. According to GizmoBolt, Sony Xperia Z3, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Z Ultra have been tested to work properly with the sound mod.
How To Install Dolby Digital Plus And Beats Sound Mod
1. Download the Dolby Digital Plus and Beats Sound mod on the computer. Download the fix for the speaker in case the audio goes off after flashing the mod.
2. Copy the mod zip file to the internal storage of the device.
3. Turn off the Sony Xperia device and reboot into Recovery mode.
4. Inside the Recovery mode, create a backup of the current ROM by selecting “backup and restore > backup.”
5. Flash the mod by selecting “install zip from SD card > choose zip from SD card > select the zip file > confirm installation.
6. Go back to the main menu and select “reboot system now.”
7. Launch the SELinux Mod Changer app and set the Mod to Permissive.
8. Set the Dolby Digital Plus from Music Settings
