Dong Nguyen to Bring Back Flappy Bird to App Store, But Has No Definite Timetable

Flappy Bird creator Dong Nguyen said through a tweet on Wednesday that he would bring back the popular online game to the App Store. However, he did not give a definite timetable when would the famous bird return.

He tweeted, "Yes. But not soon," in response to a question by Twitter member Robert who uses the handle @painfullman "Are u going to put flappy bird back on App Store?"

Techcrunch believes that the "soon" response is an indicator that the Vietnamese creator of the popular online game is putting some additional development into the game or some kind of preparatory action.

Mr Nguyen, who previously cited stress caused by the popularity of the addictive game as the reason he removed Flappy Bird from the App Store, had earlier hinted of leaving the door open for the revival of the game through his Rolling Stone profile.

In February, Mr Nguyen was quoted by Forbes as saying that Flappy Bird is gone forever. After the game was released in May 2013, Flappy Bird was initially a flap until it went viral 8 months later and topped the charts in over 100 nations with more than 50 million downloads, while Mr Nguyen was raking it in earning an estimated $50,000 a day.

It had four-star average rating from over 543,000 reviews in the Apple App Store and 228,000 on Android. But not all the reviews were glowing because it included stories of too much time spent on the game, troubled marriages and people going "crazy"over the winged creature.

The game even spawned a hoax that a Chicago teen killed his brother over the game.
