Drake Finally Opens Up About Amanda Bynes’ Tweets He Describes as 'Disturbing' and 'Bigger than Him'
Amanda Bynes’ “unrequited love” has finally been answered as Drake opens up about what he thinks about the tweets posted by the disturbed star in the earlier part of 2013. He calls them “weird and disturbing.”
It will be recalled that Amanda has a love-hate relationship with Drake for months. The one-sided love for Drake began early this year when she professed her love for the rapper. She had mentioned Drake a “hot fellow” in some of her early tweets. The former Disney star has become a bit more forward as she later called on Chris Brown’s nemesis to “murder [her] vagina.”
But when her love remained unanswered, Amanda was singing a different tune in June 2013. She likened Drake’s eyes with “Down Syndrome,” and flat out called him “ugly.” Amanda however, has called “ugly” not only Drake but also other celebrities she didn’t meet eye to eye; those she had “online banter” with particularly on Twitter. These included Rihanna and Miley Cyrus.
Drake has been quiet all this time. Until now.
While Amanda is fighting her way out of the psychiatric ward, rapper Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Drake Brown, has spoken out about the tweets posted on a Twitter account with username @amandabynes.
Speaking to XXL Magazine as part of his promotional tours for the release of his third album Nothing Was The Same, Drake described those early tweets as “weird and disturbing.”
"I don't even know who is doing that or what that's about," Drake was quoted as telling the magazine, according to the Los Angeles Times. "If that is her, I guess it's a little weird and disturbing."
It was clear in his statement however, that he is still keeping his distance and he hasn’t really pointed the finger to Amanda Bynes. It’s big of Drake to still give Amanda the benefit of the doubt and not entirely expressed beliefs that it’s the She’s the Man star, after all.
Drake pointed out that the tweets have become more controversial than most because they are coming from a celebrity.
"It's obviously a behavioral pattern that is way bigger than me," Drake noted.
The prominence of the user name in the Twitter account, Drake believes must have blown the tweets out of proportion. Yet he still finds them disturbing.
"Whoever is behind it, whether it's her or somebody else, they know people are paying attention so they keep it going," Drake concluded.
Amanda has remained in the custody of the medical doctors as requested by her parents, Nick and Lynn. The singer was forced to an involuntary mental health evaluation called 50-50 order after she set fire on the driveway of her parent’s neighbor.
Drake’s third album is set to be released on Sept 17, 2013.
