Rachael Leahcar, the 18-year-old blind contestant for 'The Voice Australia' has survived the elimination period due to high votes and is now part of the last eight contestants for Channel 9's hottest talent show.

The young attractive singer breathed a sense of relief with her parents in the crowd. With the big announcement made, Leahcar gave a huge smile for her win but drew tears for her fellow contestants, Viktoria Bolonina and Danni Da Ros for finally bidding goodbye.

It is envisioned that Leahcar's main competitor for the crown will be Karise Eden who also got through the semi finals. During the live performance show last week, the rendition of Leahcar for 'Someone to Watch Over Me' became a hit.

She once again received a standing ovation from all the coaches and the entire audience at the studio. She is set to perform again by next Monday with the rest of semi-finalists taking on the stage too.

With the amazing voice and touching story of Leahcar, there is still so much to look forward to in the remaining days for the 'The Voice.'
