Dual-Sim Samsung Galaxy S6 Duos Likely Fake
Earlier this month, rumors about Samsung launching a dual-sim variant of the Galaxy S6 surfaced on the Internet. When an online retailer from Russia posted an image of what they called the Galaxy S6 duos, many Samsung users were quick to believe that the rumors just might be true.
According to Hi-Tech Mail, the Galaxy S6 Duos will be sold in Russia at $935.65, while the 32 GB Galaxy S6 will be sold at $882.84. Taking a look at the listing, these two devices have the same model number, SM-G920, which has raised a lot of eyebrows. Having two different variants with the same model number is highly unlikely. Moreover, the listing also showed that the dual-sim variant is only available in a 64 GB built-in storage variant.
If these rumors pan out, Samsung will be recognized as the first tech manufacturer who has made a dual-sim variant for their flagship device. Its predecessor, the Galaxy S5, had just one sim dock.
To date, it remains whether or not the rumors are credible, as pointed out by Tech Times. One other thing that has made its existence even more questionable is the dual-sim version’s price. It is priced only a wee bit higher than its 32 GB single-sim counterpart. This is very strange, considering that its dual-sim capability and built-in storage should have brought a much higher price.
Since the Galaxy S6, Samsung’s latest flagship device, will be out with its Edge variant, the Galaxy S6 Edge, tech users have started to wonder if the Edge will have a dual-sim counterpart as well. However, it has been confirmed that the Galaxy S6 Edge will not be rolled out with a dual-sim version.
Samsung had already launched its latest smartphone units in India, according to NDTV. The 32 GB Galaxy S6 will be sold at $796.11, while its equivalent S6 Edge will be at $939.70. Their official release date will b on April 10, but pre-order processes have already started on Monday.
