Newly married, Prince William and wife, Kate Middleton now hailed as Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have made their debut public appearance as a married couple at the star-studded charity event at Perks Field.
Arriving at the Kensington Palace Thursday evening, the newly married young royal couple joined other members of the social elite and highly respected actors and other personalities to mark the 10th anniversary of the Absolute Return for Kids (ARK) charity.
The royal couple graced the event on behalf of Prince William and Prince Harry's Foundation, duly organized to raise funds for worldwide youth-related causes.
The night marked the Duke’s first speaking engagements after the historic royal wedding on April 29 at Westminster Abbey.
According to the Daily Telegraph, the lavish event was also the beginning of Kate’s non-ending philanthropic work as Duchess of Cambridge.
Prince William announced in his speech that his wife has officially joined him and his brother Prince Harry in the foundation for youth.
"My brother, Catherine, and I hope to use our philanthropy as a long-term catalyst for meaningful change," Prince William was quoted as addressing 1000 guests in the formal event who came at the £5,000-per-head event.
The royal couple attended on behalf of the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry, which raises money for causes associated with young people around the world.
