EA Teases 'Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare' for PlayStation
EA teased the release of the "Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare" to PlayStation systems with an image that pays homage to Sony's Sly Cooper.
The "Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare" launched last year for the Xbox One and Xbox 360. On the other hand, the PC version of the zombie game is due out next month. Despite the release of the image teaser, EA has yet to officially announce the launch of the game to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 consoles.
Thus far, announcements are expected to happen during this year's E3 conference, which is just a few weeks away. Previously, the game was first heard on EA's E3 press-conference 2013 on June 10 and back at the event, the trailer and gameplay were revealed.
The EA zombie game is currently reported to be making an appearance during the week-long electronic conference. It appears that EA's "Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare" is an eerie FPS spin on the popular strategy series.
"It's time for an announcement..." an EA account said in writing on Twitter. Interestingly, the tweet is accompanied by an image of "Fly Shooter," which is an obvious riff on Sony's Sly Cooper series of PlayStation-exclusive games.
In the past, EA released similar mash-up images, which includes "Grass Effect" and "Dead Face 3," parodies of course of the Mass Effect and Dead Space franchises.
"We have nothing to announce at this point, but I always caveat that with the comment that we want to get this game in the hands of as many people as possible," PopCap Games producer Brian Lindley via Game Informer said when previously asked about the game coming to PlayStation consoles. Releasing "Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare" for PlayStation consoles is a way to meet the goals stated by Lindley.
Meanwhile, EA added microtransactions to the "Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare" in April. The game has 4 modes namely: Garden Ops, Gardens & Graveyards, Team Vanquish and Gnome Bomb, with powerful character classes for both zombies and plants. Players can choose sides (plants or zombies) in 24-player cooperative mode and join forces with friends in the 4-player cooperative mode.
Furthermore, players can also personalise their favourite plants or zombies with a myriad of unique items and customisations.
