Sony Xperia smartphone users can now get a taste of Android 4.4 KitKat!

FreeXperia Unofficial CyanogenMod 11

FreeXperia dev team published unofficial CyanogenMod 11 which runs the latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS. The dev team currently released early CM11 builds for selected Xperia smartphones such as Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia T and Xperia V.

Certain Xperia units aren't listed yet such as Xperia SP, Xperia M and Xperia C which may become included in the future after new developments occur. It is not confirmed if more Xperia phones are going to be included after the build becomes stable.

For flashing instructions from stock ROM or older CyanogenMod version, click on the following supported Xperia models:

1. Sony Xperia Z

2. Sony Xperia Z Ultra

3. Sony Xperia Z1

4. Sony Xperia ZL

5. Sony Xperia ZR

6. Sony Xperia Tablet Z

7. Sony Xperia V

8. Sony Xperia T

Be reminded that the CyanogenMod 11 firmware for Xperia models is still under testing phase which include bugs or instability from time to time. Feel free to report any bugs or errors to FreeXperia official Google+ account.

Sony's Official Android 4.4 KitKat Firmware

Sony already announced Android 4.4 KitKat update plans for the Xperia Z series including Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z, Xperia ZL and Xperia Tablet Z. Second batch of recipients has been cleared as well which includes mid-range Xperia smartphones such as Xperia SP, Xperia V, Xperia T/TX and the missing Xperia ZR from the first list.
