Ed Sheeran Admits Having Teenage Crush On ‘The Voice Australia’ Coach Delta Goodrem
“Thinking Out Loud” singer Ed Sheeran appeared on “The Voice Australia” season 4 as a special guest on the episode that aired on July 21, Tuesday. During the episode, the singer-songwriter admitted that she had a crush on Delta Goodrem when he was a teenager.
“The Voice Australia” season 4 coach Jessie J brought Sheeran in to give some tips to two of her contestants Laz Chester and Ethan Conway who would be performing his hit song “Bloodstream.” Sheeran’s advice to the “The Voice Australia” season 4 contestants was to “not get too technical with it.”
Helping Jessie J to mentor her contestants, Sheeran had one request. She told the Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande’s “Bang Bang” collaborator, “Can you tell Delta Goodrem she was my 13-year-old crush?”
Sheeran was 13 in 2004 when Goodrem released her second album “Mistaken Identity,” which was released in Australia one day before her 20th birthday. It was her second number-one album following the success of her debut album “Innocent Eyes,” which was released when she was only 15.
Recently, Goodrem and Jessie J made headlines after clashing on “The Voice Australia” season 4. The former served as the reality show’s coach in its first, second and current season while the latter is a new coach.
Joining Goodrem and Jessie J as coaches of “The Voice Australia” season 4 are Ricky Martin and the pop rock duo The Madden Brothers made up of twin brothers Benji Madden and Joel Madden. The winners of the first three seasons of the show are Karise Eden, Harrison Craig and Anja Nissen.
Between Chester and Conway during “The Voice Australia” season 4 episode that aired on July 21, Tuesday, Jessie J chose to keep the latter. On the same day, Sheeran went to Dublin, Ireland for a surprise gig for his fans.
Before his two sold-out concerts at Croke Park, Dublin. Sheeran will be perform in a show exclusively for his fans who won a competition with Australian station Radio Nova. The competition winners have been flown to different countries to see Sheeran. They were recently serenaded by the singer-songwriter in Wheelan’s, Wexford Street, Dublin, according to Irish Independent.
