Evasi0n 6.1.3 Jailbreak: Evad3rs Still Waiting for iOS 7, Users Not Giving Up Despite Long Wait
Evasi0n 6.1.3 jailbreak remains in the wish list of iPhone users who had installed the 6.1.3 update, assuming the evad3rs would take care of them as usual. The jailbreaking hackers, however, have released a statement saying they will wait for the next major update.
"Does anyone know where to jailbreak am iPhone 4S running on 6.1.3 evasi0n won't release one," writes Twitter user @BeautifulOasis.
The evasi0n developers aka the evad3rs have tested a beta version of the iOS 6.1.3 about a month before it was rolled out. They saw for themselves that Apple has been busy blocking their jailbreak. In fact, the 6.1.3 was called in some blogs as the evasi0n jailbreak killer. As early as then, they knew it would not be wise to waste what's left of the exploits they could use. But the good news is, there are exploits left.
Not every jailbroken iPhone user is clamoring for a jailbreak, though. For many Apple iOS users, it makes sense for the evasi0n team to wait for the iOS 7.
On change.org, a petition urging evasi0n to "release a jailbreak of iOS 6.1.3 and IOS 6.1.4" has so far gathered over 3 thousand signatures. This number is relatively small compared to the millions of iDevice users freed by evasi0n earlier this year. Their jailbreak tool works up to iOS 6.1.2.
"Evasi0n needs to come out with a 6.1.3 jailbreak," tweets @timmy_lucas13.
An evad3r recently reacted on Twitter to one of the jailbreak-related posts tagged for his attention. His message implies there has been no change in the evasi0n plan: wait for iOS 7 before jailbreaking.
"I doubt anyone will invest the time to jailbreak 6.1.3/4 on newer devices. Sorry," evad3r @pod2g tweeted.
Meanwhile, some details on this year's annual Worldwide Jailbreak Convention (JailbreakCon) has been announced. (Follow this link for the International Business Times report.) The event happens from August 23 to 24 at the Radisson Hotel in New Rochelle, New York.
Apple Inc. is determined to keep its users within the bounds of its strict ecosystem. For the firm, it is for user safety and security. But for jailbreaking users, the more control they have over their purchased device, the better.
