The long wait for the Evasi0n iOS 7 jailbreak release date will likely be stretched further as reports emerged that the latest iOS 7.1 beta version shut down an important exploit that Team Evad3rs is reportedly tinkering with.

The possibility of @Pod2g and his Evad3r cohorts back to square looms large as claims float around the jailbreak community that Apple has successfully patched its latest mobile platform against any attempts of unlocking by hackers.

According to iPhoneHacks.com, the 'MobileBackup2' exploit that Team Evadr3s is supposedly working on to finalise the Evasi0n iOS 7 jailbreak has been sealed from further tinkering, thus spelling out additional work load and time for the iPhone and iPad liberators.

The immediate consequence would be delayed arrival of the jailbreaking tool that millions of iOS device users have been hoping to get soon. Initially, jailbreakers are optimistic that the Evasi0n JB is coming out in time for the 2013 holidays.

However, iOS 7 proved a tough nut to crack for the Evad3rs some three months after the software was first released. From an ETA of Christmas 2013 issuance, the unlocker was set for official debut on February 2014, by which beta releases of iOS 7.1 would have over.

Team Evadr3s then could wrap up its work and dispatch the jailbreak that bears the workarounds on patches that Apple has sent out in the numerous beta iOS 7.1 releases.

Yet the work ahead for the group appears not that simple as another popular jailbreak figure, iH8Snow, did confirm that MobileBack2 is quite a big deal.

"7.1 does patch the mobilebackup2 exploit to write to /var via the MediaDomain symlink," iH8Snow was quoted by iPhoneHacks.com as saying in Twitter post dated Dec 15.

And another jailbreaker added his voice to the likelihood that "Apple has killed some vulnerabilities jailbreakers were using for iOS 7 in iOS 7.1." The tweet was aired the following day by Stefan Esser, the same report said.

Esser or @i0n1c, however, has been branded a troll in the JB circle with @Pod2g himself dismissing Esser's most recent jailbreak feed outs.

Fact is, Team Evad3rs has been quite secretive and silent on the progress of its Evasi0n JB work, which also means that MobileBackup2 could be only one of the numerous exploit that the group is planning to circumvent in order to provide the iOS 7 jailbreak at the soonest possible time.

Meantime, if indeed Beta 2 of iOS 7.1 is designed to close down any doors that were left ajar in the iOS 7 then it should be prudent to stay away from the patch or any other succeeding betas that Apple intends to fire up in the coming weeks and months.

As iH8Snow has advised in recent weeks, all iOS 7 patch updates should be taken as corrective measures coming from Apple and the whole idea is to lock out hackers from re-authoring the software. In other words, updating via the official Apple channel could potentially render an iOS device unlockable.
