Ex-UFC Fighter Ryan Jensen Helps Cops Catch Car Thieves At Walmart
With his 22 years of training as a professional MMA fighter, Ryan Jensen decided to take matters in his own hands after his house was burglarized in the evening of March 12, Thursday. The former UFC fighter managed to help the cops catch the thieves at Walmart.
After noticing that his trunk was wide open and everything was ransacked and stolen, Jensen checked the surveillance video, in which he saw the suspects, a man and a woman, in a dark-colored vehicle, which turned out to be also stolen, according to the police report.
Jensen also checked his bank account and found out that the last transaction with his credit card was made at a nearby Walmart. The eight-time UFC vet went there where he found the suspects, Michael Stafford and Cassandra Preister, both 30.
Stafford and Preister tried to escape after Jensen confronted them but only to fail. It turned out that the two had also stolen five cars during a larceny spree. Police arrested them for a number of charges, including use of a stolen credit card and theft.
In an interview with MMA Fighting, Jensen explained why he chose to trace the burglars himself. He said, “I'm thinking, they know how to get to my house and know how to get in. If the cops aren't gonna do anything tonight, these guys will probably break in and steal my car.”
