Exynos 8-Core Chip Being Geared by Samsung for an Exclusive Galaxy Note 3 Release?
Samsung's Galaxy Note 3 will likely end up as the Android device to fully showcase the solid capabilities of the 8-core Exynos Octa 5 CPU following reports that the Galaxy S4 deployment in UK will be on Snapdragon 600.
From its earlier announcement of pushing the Galaxy S4 with a Qualcomm-made chip in the United States, Samsung recently added consumers in the United Kingdom to the list.
"In the UK the Galaxy S4 will be available as a 4G device with a 1.9GHz Quad Core Processor," Android Central reported Samsung as saying in a statement.
With two major markets geared for the S4 release without the Exynos 1.6GH as earlier hinted by the South Korean tech giant, it could be that the processor will only be dispatched via the Galaxy S4 in selected locations, probably in emerging markets like China and India.
It is likely too that release of the Exynos-powered S4 will be delayed a bit and the reason could be the required additional works required to perfect the new technology.
Note that in earlier reports this year, Samsung was mulling a skip of Exynos Octa 5 on the S4 due to alleged glitches. The CPU has yet to satisfy Samsung's aim of delivering superfast device processing but with less energy requirement.
A few months after, new reports emerged that Octa 5 instead will be installed on the upcoming Note 3, suggesting that Samsung has completed the puzzle but full production will only be ready for the new phablet release.
At the last minute, however, Samsung has decided that the international version of the Galaxy S4 will also be Exynos-powered though the move was likely inspired by plans of phased rollout.
Exynos Octa 5 on Galaxy S4 will probably make it to the second batch production of the handset, thus missing the planned April release that Samsung said will be as pervasive as possible.
Yet for the Note 3 release that reports said will happen on Q3 2013, the Exynos Octa 5 should be all revved up for debut, making the new phablet as the full-pledged instrument for the cutting-edge CPU's global introduction.
The S4 version, on the other hand, will be a silent push out, allowing Samsung a preview of the real-world functions of the new chip, which actually combines the muscles of Cortex A7 and A15 computing technology.
