Facebook Messenger Revamped As More Advanced Photo Tools Added
Facebook will be implementing some major changes to its Messenger app soon. This could mean that the social network’s widely used chatting platform will be turned into a huge hub for multiple users.
If the rumors turn out to be true, then avid Facebook Messenger users can get to share travel arrangements, conduct in-app searches, as well as use more advanced photo tools. Although news regarding these changes was recent, it was actually quite expected of the company, considering that they had recently rolled out a new peer-to-peer payments feature. Once all changes have been implemented, the Facebook Messenger app will be much more than what it is right now.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg officially announced during the recent F8 Conference that its Messenger platform now features customized photo and video building, as well as GIF selection, as confirmed by Yahoo! Tech.
Working with Giphy, Facebook Messenger can now be used for conducting in-app searches and adding GIFs to make conversations much more interesting without having to exit the Messenger app. Although such feature was already possible without Giphy, the demonstration showed that users can now custom-build media without having to exit the conversation.
Apart from Giphy, Zuckerberg’s announcement confirmed that there are also other third-party apps that have signed on to make Facebook Messenger much better and give it an advantage over its chat app competitors, as reported by Mashable.
Moreover, with the revamped Facebook Messenger, users can install new apps within the popular chat app, no longer needing to enter the App Store or Google Play Store. An “Install” button has been incorporated into the app.
The new Facebook Messenger is also presently working closely with ESPN, which allowed Facebook users to insert sports clips right into the conversation. Another video app that may be used from within Messenger is a video-effects app from Bad Robot Production Studio, which allows users to add action FX into amateur videos and photos that they would like to share with their Facebook friends.
