As Geralt, gamers will make tough choices and face their consequences in “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.” Xbox News

“The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” was very well-received by players worldwide, and the game has provided them hours of amazing gameplay and scenery. To up the ante, developer CD Projekt Red released a Modkit that would allow players to tinker with a few aspects of the game. However, the new feature was not received well by players.

The Modkit which “The Witcher 3” got last week allows users to manipulate the game in a variety of ways, just like any other modding tool. Aside from changing how certain objects look in the game, it also allows players to alter item statistics and more through the use of scripting tools. Players can also use mod created by other "Witcher" fans.

In a report by Polygon, CD Projekt Red said that the modding tools for “The Witcher 3” is not intended to be an editor, as it is designed to be used by those with a little experience with modding softwares. Aside from that, it is also designed to make modding much easier.

However, to the fans' dismay, what they got was less than what they were promised. What they expected was a version of Redkit for “The Witcher 3.” The Redkit was a modding suite for the previous title, “The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings,” and it is known for being more fully featured than what Modkit offers. Hardcore "Witcher" fans are also reportedly more familiar with Redkit.

Fans took to Twitter to ask CD Projekt CEO Marcin Momot on the release date of the Redkit, after thinking that the Modkit was just a taste of what’s to come. However, Momot responded and said that the Modkit will be the only modding tool for “The Witcher 3.” The fans were reportedly disappointed at Momot's response, believing that they were promised more.
